![]() Twenty-five years later, those of us who were too young to really appreciate Fran’s outfits in the mid-‘90s are clearly seeking inspiration, and I’m here to help. Costume designer Brenda Cooper's work was such a standout in my re-watch that I began posting my favorite Fran Fine outfits on my Tumblr account, I didn’t anticipate the question that would be asked after each post: “ Who is Fran wearing?”Ĭhallenging myself to figure out each outfit’s provenance was the logical next step - and in April 2016 my Instagram account “ What Fran Wore” was born. The laughs remained as dependable as ever, but I was surprised by how well-dressed Fran was, as my only real memories of the show revolved around her voice and laugh. ![]() ![]() So much so that 20 years later, in 2013, I decided to revisit Nanny Fran Fine and the Sheffields, the family she swoops in to both wrangle and love. Her starring vehicle, “The Nanny,” which debuted in November of 1993, was an iconic part of my childhood. When I think about the television shows and personalities that raised me, Fran Drescher’s distinct voice and laugh are standouts.
